The J. Crew Parke Blazer in Velvet in Dried Rose is one of my favorite pieces from the most recent website launch. I've said it before, but I will say it again, no other retailer does color better than J. Crew. And, this blazer is absolutely fabulous. The "dried rose" color is vibrant and striking--it's perfect for fall! The color pairs so well with so many current and past J. Crew offerings. It looks spectacular with stripes. The blazer quality is superb. The material is luxurious, fluffy, and incredibly soft. This blazer gets a 5-star rating on the website, which is spot on. Here are two IRL pictures of me wearing the blazer:
And, here are the website images that sold me on the blazer:
This blazer really "pops" against stripes and distressed denim. The blazer fits TTS. I'm wearing my blazer with an older J. Crew shirt from 2014, but the J. Crew Striped Button-Up Shirt with Ruffles works well too (fit is TTS).
The embroidery is incredible. This jacket will be in constant rotation in my wardrobe because I plan to treat the jacket as a neutral piece, so I will be pairing it with everything! I love the idea of pattern mixing the fabulous embroidery with stripes and polka dots. The jacket is designed to fit "oversized," but I took my normal size Large. I highly recommend this great piece!
And, here are a few other pieces that I'm currently loving from Madewell:
Details: I sized down from a Large to a Medium in this jacket, so the fit is generous. This jacket is incredibly soft, but it is lightweight so it will not keep you warm in frigid temperatures. The jacket has a cocoon-ish fit that I think is super flattering and that allows for layering without feeling too bulky. The reversible side of the jacket is an olive green color that is SO adorable!
I love how the jacket is styled in the following images:
