J. Crew Personal Shopper

Hi Everyone!

I've been thinking a lot about the benefits of having a wonderful J. Crew personal shopper lately. So, I decided to create a post about the wonderful complimentary service. The J. Crew website encourages using the service, suggesting that doing so guarantees that you will "never worry about what you're going to wear again." And, a few years ago I saw a statement that said something about never wanting to shop without your PS again. I agree with both of these statements. I LOVE both of my personal shoppers. I have an in-store and online PS, so I feel like I'm covered from all angles.

My store PS is the absolute BEST. I've worked with her since 2008. We have a great rapport; I trust her wholeheartedly. She knows me well, and she literally remembers EVERY item I purchase from J. Crew and other stores. And, she's always honest with me about fit. I credit my store PS for changing my style. When I started shopping with her, I only wanted to purchase jackets (you couldn't get me to even look at a skirt or a necklace). Now, because of her, I've learned how to maximize my wardrobe, and more important, how to accessorize with jewelry and scarves. My store PS must be awesome if my wonderful hubby repeatedly says, "wow, that's a great outfit. Christy rocks."

My online PS is also wonderful; she consistently contacts me about upcoming rollouts/products, and she's located several "sold out" items for me. I love the personal shopper service. Do you have a personal shopper? Do tell about your experience!

  3. I do have a PS and she is online. I feel like I never hear about any new rollout or sneak peaks unless a blogger posts them or they are on polyvore. She actually was a replacement for a previous PS who who was good (had her for 2 years) in terms of staying abreast of the items I was in search for but neither never have suggested any clothing or styling, provided a glimpse of what is to come or any other service other than finding an item I have emailed them about or asked for a PA. Kind of a bummer. Maybe I am not the norm?

  4. turquoise22, I actually had your experience initially. I didn't have an online PS until about 6 months ago. So, I normally just called the special number that was mailed out a few years ago. I got different information each time I called, and I couldn't get anyone to tell me about upcoming rollouts/products. Then, I received a postcard from my wonderful online PS telling me that she could offer styling advice, etc. I call her once a month to ask about new products. I hope that helps! Thanks for being here!!

  5. I've never used the JCrew personal shopper service before. Recently, though, I have been spending more time in Nordstrom because of the customized care you receive when you step into the store. I can get used it!

  8. Bourbon and Pearls, the online PS can be super helpful because they often know about forthcoming products before store employees!!
