J. Crew New Arrivals: No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Wool--Retro Jade and No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Herringbone--Manor Purple

Hi Everyone!

I just received the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Wool--Retro Jade and the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Herringbone--Manor Purple.  Here are a few IRL pictures:

No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Wool Retro Jade:

Here is a closer picture of the Retro Jade color:

And, here is a side-by-side comparison of the Viridian Green color from last year and the Retro Jade from this year:

The Viridian Green is on the bottom.  The Retro Jade from this year is more blue/turquoise while the Viridian Green is more of a heathered (is that a word, LOL!) green in my opinion.

Here are IRL pictures of the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Herringbone in Manor Purple:

What do you think of the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Double-Serge Wool--Retro Jade and No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Herringbone--Manor Purple?  Do tell!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Welllll CRAP. I would have been able to resist this retro jade color if it were closer to viridian green, but since I've been looking for a turquoise pencil skirt for a while now, I will HAVE to get this! Thanks SO much for the side by side--that was incredibly helpful. I also love the purple skirt. Would love to have that one as well since one of my school's colors is purple!

  2. Very pretty! Do you think you will keep them both?

I am so dithering about what I need clothes-wise this fall - my list is long, but my budget is not!

    1. Skylette: Me too! I think that the purple is super vibrant and rich. And, you're right, it doesn't seem to be a popular color at retail stores this season which is odd.

Thanks SO much for being here!

  4. Rynetta, can you tell me if the length is the same as the wool pencil skirts from last year? They tend to be too long on my and I am wondering if I should try petite? Let me know you thoughts. Thanks!!! Love the Retro Jade, so pretty

    1. The length (and other measurements) on the size 2 is identical to last year's skirt.

    2. Hi MB and Cate O! Okay, my skirts seem a bit longer. I'm hoping that mine weren't marked as regulars when they're actually talls. Hmmmm, this is weird.

Thanks SO much for being here ladies!

  5. Lovely! I got my blue and pink skirts today and I think the fabric feels a little rougher than last year's. Do you agree, or am I just crazy?

  7. Thanks for the pics! Oh how I wish I had the viridiant green skirt! I was a fool to pass on it. I have a pretty bright turquoise wool pencil skirt from about 4 years ago and it's still in perfect condition so no retro jade for me. I might have to start looking for a second had viridant green..
