I'm Pushing it Real Good: J. Crew Toothpick Jeans!

Hi Everyone!

Salt-N-Pepa was my favorite female rap duo when I was growing up.  My sister took me to see them in concert when I was in middle school.  That concert was the first I attended, and it's still one of my fondest childhood memories.  Each time I see the recent Geico Commercial featuring this fabulous duo, I'm reminded of SO many things, the biggest of which is how this group paved the way for other black female rappers by stepping out of the box, by literally pushing societal boundaries.

I was totally thinking about pushing and exceeding boundaries when I decided to try the J. Crew Toothpick Jeans one more time earlier today.  If you read my Pants to Make Her Dance post, you know that I have had traumatic experiences with pants.  Today, however, the tide changed, thank God!  I tried both the Ever Stretch Toothpick Jean in Resin Rinse and the Toothpick Cone Denim Jean in Classic Rinse........and they both fit GREAT!!!!  I can finally wear J. Crew jeans.

I mean, seriously, this is huge.  This black girl booty fits into J. Crew jeans!!!!!  And, I sized down from a 14 to a 12!

But, don't take my word for it.  Here are IRL pictures of the jeans:

After this experience, I will continue pushing the boundaries real good.  Have you tried the toothpick jeans?

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Hooray! What a great feeling to find a nice fitting pair of jeans. And you found two! Gigi's right, I hate shopping for jeans, pants in general. I haven't tried toothpicks in a while. I just put a pair of the Classic rinse cone denim in my cart. Just waiting for free shipping, no limit and nice % off.
    Thanks for the reviews.

  3. Hooray! I'm so thrilled these worked out for you and good for you for "pushing" your boundaries. I was thrilled when I tried these on a whim that they actually fit. I'm sure a lot of people aren't happy with the new fit, but this curvy girl certainly is! Thanks for sharing.

  5. Loved this review. I wrote a long comment, but it got deleted somehow 😳. I, too, tried the toothpicks and loved them. You can't beat quality jeans that cover our big booties, don't stretch out excessively and are quality. Do, here's to pushing it and dancing around every time the Geico commercial comes premieres☺️.

  7. Great fit on you, Rynetta.
I also have had good success with the Factory Toothpick jeans...my favourite pair are in black from last year...great fit and comfort, and have really held up well after many washings. My go to jeans.
