J. Crew Pleated Midi Skirt in Polka Dot

Hi Everyone!

I have a super quick review to share today.  Let me just say that I am a huge fan of the J. Crew Pleated Midi Skirt in Polka Dot.  This skirt is SO versatile and gorgeous.  And, the quality is superb.

Here are two IRL pictures of the skirt:

I copied this retail store mannequin image:

And, I totally copied the following look from @annabaun (I love her style) on Instagram!:

Fit/Details:  I sized down *one* size in this skirt.  And, a reviewer on the website notes that she sized down, too.  The skirt is flowy, yet very flattering.  The pleats do not add weight at all.  Indeed, I think that the pleats actually add a streamlined look.  This is a pull on style, so there is no zipper.

In the first picture, I am wearing the skirt with the J. Crew Perfect Shirt in Onyx Dot (I sized up in this shirt).  And, I am wearing the J. Crew Sleeveless Silk Popover Shirt in Deco Floral in the second picture.

J. Crew Martie Pant in Gingham

Hi Everyone!

The J. Crew Martie Pant in Gingham was at the top of my list of must-haves from the most recent rollout.  I am a drawn to anything gingham, I am just a sucker for the pattern.

Here are two IRL pictures of the pants:

Fit/Details:  I sized up *one* size in these pants.  My normal size 14 would not have worked.  There is a bit of stretch in the fabric, but I definitely needed the size up.  And, a reviewer on the J. Crew website notes that she sized up, too.  These pants are super cute and versatile.  I have already created at least five outfits for these beauties.  I cannot wait until the weather cooperates so that I can wear these pants!

J. Crew NYFW Recap, Part I

Hi Everyone!

I was super duper excited that J. Crew invited me to NYFW again!  I had an absolute blast in September, and this time was no different.  I had an AMAZING trip.  I am super grateful to/for J. Crew.

I arrived in NYC on Saturday afternoon so that I would have plenty of time to rest before the show on Sunday.  The hotel accommodations were superb.  I highly recommend Hotel Hugo if you're traveling to NYC.  The rooms were super clean, the staff was superb, and the location was ideal (Soho is one of my favorite areas in the city):

And, yes, that is one of my favorite J. Crew coats, the J. Crew Chateau Parka in Stadium-Cloth.

The J. Crew NYFW presentation was phenomenal in my opinion.  Here are a few of the looks from the show (I will post more looks in Part 2 of my recap):

I honestly wanted to take the clothes off the models!  These looks are so classic, so fun, and so stunning.  I cannot wait for these look to become available.  And, I am hoping that all of these looks make it to production.  Being at the show was a spectacular feeling.  It is so exhilarating to see the looks all together live and in one space.

J. Crew Washed Cotton Trench Coat

Hi Everyone!

I am finishing a post recapping my J. Crew NYFW experience (it was PHENOMENAL).  I will try to get the post up this afternoon.  I cannot stop thinking about how much fun I had.

In the meantime, I am sharing a review of the J. Crew Washed Cotton Trench Coat.  This trench is a really great transitional piece.  It's lightweight enough to wear now if you live in a place that is experiencing warmer temps this weekend.  And, this beauty will work well into spring:

Fit/Details:  I took my normal size 12 in this trench, so the fit is TTS.  Again, the trench is lightweight--it's not too thick or too thin.  The material is not substantial, which I love.  This is a grab and go piece that does not require much figuring out what to pair with it.  I am incredibly busy (as most of us are), so I love the idea of putting on a versatile/classic piece that looks great with jeans but that also doesn't make me look sloppy or uninspired.  And, the quality of this trench is superb.  I am wearing the trench the way it was styled in the retail store closest to me, with
the J. Crew Striped Ponte Sweatshirt:

I highly recommend this trench!

J. Crew Collection Italian Wool Mockneck Top

Hi Everyone!

The J. Crew Collection Italian Wool Mockneck Top is one of my recent/favorite wardrobe additions. This top is so classic, versatile, and fun:

Here is a quick review--Fit/Details:  This top is really amazing.  The quality is superb and so is the fit.  I took my normal size 12.  The fabric is structured without being too tight or too thick.  And, this beauty is versatile.  The top looks great with jeans.  It would also look great with suiting pants.

I'm wearing the J. Crew Silk Boy Shirt in Heart Throb underneath this top, but the J. Crew Collection Silk Top with Stitching in the "Shell Pink" color would work well, too.

J. Crew Teddie Pant in Mirrored Floral

Hi Everyone!

The J. Crew Teddie Pant in Mirrored Floral caught my eye as soon as these beauties appeared on the website.  I was super excited to get these pants yesterday.  I love a great fitting pant with a cute print.  And, finding great fitting pants or jeans has not always been easy for me.

Here are IRL pictures of these gorgeous pants:

Fit/Details:  I sized up *one* size in these pants.  The material is a heavy (but not too heavy) cotton that does not have much "give" or stretch.  The pants are great quality and the fit is superb.  The cropped leg is so well done that is extremely flattering even on my curvy figure/bottom.  I think that the cropped fit on these pants definitely requires wearing a heel. Wearing flats would have made me look dowdy.  I highly recommend these beauties!  And, the floral pattern is so versatile that multiple colors will work well with this print.  I paired these pants with the J. Crew Dulci Suede Kitten Heels in "Vivid Jade" to pull out the green color.

J. Crew Midi Sweater Skirt

Hi Everyone!

So, I am a huge fan of midi skirts.  Initially, I was super nervous that the midi length would not work for me, but I was SO wrong.  The length is actually ideal on me!

Here is a quick picture of the J. Crew Midi Sweater Skirt in "Neon Watermelon":

Fit/Details:  I took my normal size 14 in this skirt, so the fit is TTS.  This skirt is seriously fabulous (it gets 5-stars on the website). There is an elastic waistband that helps to hide the lumps and the bumps.  And, the weight of the skirt is ideal.  It's not too heavy or too thin, but just right.  The Merino Wool material is not prone to snagging in my opinion.  I highly recommend this beauty.  I love how well this skirt pairs with the J. Crew Denim Jacket in Tyler Wash and the J. Crew Striped Tissue Turtleneck T-Shirt.

J. Crew Chateau Trench Coat

Hi Everyone!

The recently released J. Crew Chateau Trench Coat was at the top of my must-have list!  This coat is one of the many reasons why I love J. Crew.  The fit, the quality, the design = SUPERB.

Here are IRL pictures of the trench:

And, here is a picture of the inside lining.  The gingham detail is super striking.  It's a great feature:

Fit/Details:  I took my normal size 12 in this trench, so it fits TTS.  There are two reviews on the J. Crew website that indicate this trench fits slightly smaller than the J. Crew Chateau Parka in Stadium-Cloth.  I did not notice the trench fitting smaller.  Both of these pieces fit similar in the arms for me.  But, that could be because I am wearing a thinner shirt underneath the trench, the J. Crew Perfect Shirt in Crinkle Gingham.  Unlike the wool version of this coat/trench, this version does not have a detachable hood.  And, the trench does flare out slightly at the bottom, but it does so in a flattering way.  The material is the perfect weight--not too light, not too heavy.  This is a great piece.  I highly recommend it.

And, here is the Pinterest image that sold me on this beauty:

Finally, here is a picture of the shoes that model is wearing, the J. Crew Sloan Plaid d'Orsay Flats with Bow:

I took my normal size 9 in these shoes.  Fit is TTS.  The shoes are super comfortable right out of the box.  And, this trench also looks great with the J. Crew Sloan d'Orsay Flats in Batik Floral:

These shoes fit TTS as well.
